Dr Sonia Shetty

I hold a specialist role as the school doctor for a complex special needs school that supports children aged 0 to 19 with profound learning disabilities, often alongside conditions such as Autism and ADHD. In addition, I serve as the designated doctor for Children Looked After, where I carry out health assessments and advocate for the wellbeing of some of the most vulnerable children in our community.

In my role, I work closely with a wide range of professionals—speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, and educational staff—to ensure that the care we provide is joined-up, evidence-based, and truly child-centred. My assessments are always thorough and carefully tailored to the individual, with a strong focus on helping each child thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.
