Terms & Conditions
1. What This Document Is
This sets out how we work with you and your child when providing developmental assessments and healthcare services. It explains what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you.
2. How We Agree to Work Together
- You can contact us to book a consultation (by phone, email or online).
- A contract between us starts when we confirm the appointment in writing.
- If we’re unable to offer an appointment, we’ll let you know and you won’t be charged.
3. Consent
- If your child has more than one parent/legal guardian, the consent of one parent is enough to proceed with an appointment, in line with UK law (Children Act 1989).
- By booking, you are confirming you have the authority to consent on behalf of your child.
4. Our Responsibilities
- We are fully qualified, GMC-registered, DBS-checked, and insured.
- We will always act in your child’s best interests and do our best to provide a high-quality and thoughtful assessment and/or opinion.
- If more time is needed for a full assessment, we’ll explain what’s needed and may suggest a follow-up appointment.
5. Your Responsibilities
- Please provide all relevant medical, developmental, and background information requested.
- Please attend on time and notify us if you need to cancel or change the appointment.
If you are using private insurance, provide all necessary authorisation before the appointment.
6. Payment Terms
- Payment is due at the time of the consultation unless otherwise agreed.
- You will be invoiced after your consultation, and late payments may attract interest charges.
7. Missed or Cancelled Appointments
- Please let us know as soon as possible if you need to cancel.
- Late cancellations or missed appointments may be charged to cover the time set aside.
8. When We May Cancel or Pause Services
We may need to pause or stop services if:
- There is an emergency or illness.
- You haven’t provided necessary information or payment.
- Providing the service would be inappropriate or unsafe.
- You (or someone with you) behave in a threatening or abusive manner.
9. Problems or Complaints
Please let us know if you have any concerns. We will do our best to put things right – this may include redoing part of the service, offering a refund, or discussing another solution.
10. Confidentiality and Privacy
- Your and your child’s personal and medical information is treated in strict confidence.
- We only share it with people involved in your child’s care or where required by law.
- Your records are stored securely and in line with medical regulations.
11. Limitation of Liability
- We are responsible for any personal injury or death caused by our negligence.
- Otherwise, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service.
- We are not responsible for loss or damage to your property during the appointment.
12. Governing Law
- These terms are governed by English law.
- Any legal matters will be dealt with in English courts.
